In the previous issue (2D Kinematic Movement), I showed you the algorithms that allow to perform the calculations of movement of an agent able to change direction of movement of instantaneous way.
In this issue, I show you the algorithms that allow calculations to be made for an agent to change its velocity in a gradual way, depending on the acceleration capabilities of the agent.
This type of movement is more natural than the previous one, the kinematic movement produces rectilinear trajectories with instantaneous changes in the direction of movement, whereas the inertial movement produces curved trajectories with gradual changes in the direction of movement.
Whether you use one or the other will depend on how you design your video game. Both are totally valid, even more, in the same video-game you can use one or the other to give different characteristics to their agents.
